Meet Anna Thompson – Your Dedicated Optician at Express Eyewear

Welcome to Express Eyewear, located in the heart of Lindale, TX at 2533A S Main Street. I'm Anna Thompson, and my passion for the optical industry has shaped a unique path that led me here, serving you with the best in vision care. My journey into the optical world began somewhat unexpectedly. While studying film and media in college in 2014, I took a summer job as an optical lab technician at Wal-Mart Optical Lab in my hometown, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

This experience opened my eyes to the intricate and fascinating world of eyewear manufacturing, from shaping lenses to ensure precise vision correction, to the detailed final inspections. The challenge and pace of the work captivated me so much that I dropped out of college and decided to make optical manufacturing my career.

While in Arkansas, I pursued my passion to become a licensed dispensing optician, completing a four-year apprenticeship under the guidance of multiple highly skilled licensed opticians. My craft was further refined in Portland, Oregon, in a distinguished optical department within an ophthalmology group. This role presented me with complex vision cases, greatly enhancing my expertise and broadening my professional scope. It also helped that the optical department was ran by an ABO Certified Master Optician, providing a high-standard backdrop for my continued professional development.

Today, I bring this wealth of experience to Lindale, TX. I opened Express Eyewear after noticing a significant need for expert optical services in this small town.
